The surgery has recently taken on several new staff. We have two new receptionist Emma and, who will assist patients with making appointments, dealing with problems and answering the telephone. We also have a new secretary, Nicola ,who will assist Sue with referrals Nicola will cover Thursday and Fridays and Holidays

To help with access we have Nurse Practitioners Mohammed and Gerry they will do telephone triage and run minor ailment clinics. When you ring for on the day appointment you will be triaged by one of the nurse practitioners  they  will call you back same day to access your illness and make you a appointment with the correct person. We are hoping this will help with access and that patients can be seen on the same day if necessary.

In June we had a Community Matron join the team at Leesbrook, her name is Dawn .Her role will be similar to the Nurse Practitioner. They will both triage  and see patients for minor ailments .

We will also have specialist clinics and home visits for over 75’s and care homes.Dawn’s role will also be to help with unplanned admissions at the hospital.

The staff at Leesbrook are always trying to help with patient access and we feel the above changes will enable patients to be seen on the same day.
